Guide Dog for the Blind
Checkpoint Charlie’s Larry Black Label completed its training in 6 months less than the usual time required. Jean Gould, in her book "All about the Old English Sheepdog" (1988) also refers that "the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association at Exwick trained successfully at least one dog and one bitch. Martha was from the breeding of Ann Arch (Loakespark).

They shared their secrets and news - although my daughter had to admit she hadn't formed a picture of Samantha, except that she appeared to be very faithfull to Mary. The day of the Christmas party was nearing and everyone was encouraged to bring a friend. "Bring Samantha, Mary" said my daugthter. "Oh I don't know if she will like it. Could the friend she lives with come as well?" The day of the party arrived, everyone came looking clean and bright - especially Samantha, an Old English Sheepdog! Sue Ware
